This post is to demonstrate enabling Flash Recovery Area In Oracle RAC 19c Database.
1. Before enabling the fast recovery area, check the status of FRA.
SQL> show parameter db_recovery;
NAME TYPE VALUE
———————————— ———– ——————————
db_recovery_file_dest string
db_recovery_file_dest_size big integer 0
2. Enable the FRA.
SQL> alter system set db_recovery_file_dest_size=20G scope=both sid=’*’;
System altered.
SQL> alter system set DB_RECOVERY_FILE_DEST=’+DATA’ scope=both sid=’*’;
System altered.
3. Verify the FRA status from all RAC nodes.
SQL> show parameter db_recovery;
NAME TYPE VALUE
———————————— ———– ——————————
db_recovery_file_dest string +DATA
db_recovery_file_dest_size big integer 20G
4. Check the FRA utilization and occupant details.
set linesize 300
col NAME for a20
select name, ROUND(SPACE_LIMIT/1024/1024/1024,2) “Allocated Space(GB)”,
round(SPACE_USED/1024/1024/1024,2) “Used Space(GB)”,
